You may have noticed I like to write about my personal life. Some of the best stories come from lived experience. So I thought I would give my battered journal a break and start making daily blog posts in my publication, TMI: Too Much Information.

I’ve been trying to publish multiple stories every day this month. Most days, I’ve been able to write two stories. Two days, I even published three. But, I didn’t manage to do it every day. I’ve been trying to have at least one day a week that I stay off the computer and spend time with my wife and daughter.

It’s worked out well so far.

This Saturday we went to the beach. My daughter finally got a chance to swim in the ocean and even got her first sunburn. Because it was the first trip to the beach of the season and it was last-minute, we failed to prepare. We left the sunscreen in the bathroom at home.

We all had a good time. We ate Talaba (steamed oysters) and drank warm Buko juice (coconut) right from the shell. The ocean water is not as clear where we went as some of the places we’ve been, but it was cool, and the kids had fun. My…
