I Wish I Could Work a “Real” Job, But I Can’t

Many of us cannot

When people ask what I do for a living — a question I get all the time — I always reply with “I am a writer.” I rarely tell people I’ve received Social Security Disability for quite some time because my condition doesn’t allow me to work what some consider a real job. I don’t tell people that my illness will not allow me to work a regular job.
